Go to the University of Washington

Catherine

Hello. I am currently employed in the GAPPS Research Project at Children's Hospital in Seattle as an administrative assistant for the program. I'm a recent graduate of the Jackson School of Interational Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle. Once again in my senior year I was fortunate enough to make the Dean's List. You can watch a short video clip of my graduation here.

 Lake Geneva waterfront March 2007

I studied in the summer of 2007 in Berlin, Germany at Humboldt Universitaet zu Berlin which is in downtown Berlin near the Palace of the Republic which was formerly the Kaiser's Palace the rebuilt as the headquarters of the East Berlin government. The University was rebuilt after the war by the Ford Foundation. I am staying with other students from the UW at the Paul Fleischmann House in the House of Nations.

I had a great spring break trip in 2007 traveling to Switzerland and Italy.  The picture at the left shows me on the waterfront of Lake Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland. I studied hard at the UW and and in the fall of my junior year I was named to the UW Dean's List. Alpha Chi Omega Presentationi Night 2005

I spent the month of August in 2006 studying in Paris in a program sponsored by the University of Washington.  I am a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority where I was the Chair of the Alumni Relation Committee.

Two important things happened in my freshman year. First, we won the PAC 10 Basketball Championship and second, I earned a place on the UW Dean's List

Some of my friends and I from the Alpha Chi Omega house participated in Opening Day festivities held in Seattle in 2AXO at Opening Day Festivities 2005005 and we can be seen by clicking the following link:

I graduated with honors from Holy Names Academy high school in Seattle where I was an AP Scholar. I was also co-captain of the crew team as a junior and rowed for four years.

One of the things I enjoy is creative writing and if you would like to see a sample of my work just click here. You can check out some photos of my graduation and senior prom evening festivities here.

I served as a school ambassador at Holy Names which involved hosting social functions and welcoming prospective students. My volunteer work has also included working with the retired nuns in the religious order that runs the school at their home in Spokane, Washington, and also volunteering with the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. I have also been involved with volunteer work at the Puget Sound Blood Center. I encourage you to give blood to your community blood bank. It truly is the gift of life!

Summary of my HNA crew team experience

In the summer of 2002 I travelled to Montreal, Canada, and visited the cathedral where Celine Dion was married. It is the Cathedral Notre Dame Basilica and it is a truly beautiful edifice.

In the summer of 2000, I went to London, England, and Normandy in France. We visited the American military cemetery on Omaha Beach and it was a very moving experience.

This newspaper article gives an interesting perspective on athletics and women in business. I was elected co-captain of my high school crew team in 2003. In our 2002 season I was selected for the "Ultimate Team Player" award by my coaches.
